Oak View Group in Palm Springs, CA is hiring a Prep Cook to support our kitchen team. You will prepare ingredients, follow recipes, manage mise en place, and uphold food safety and sanitation standards.

The role is part-time with an hourly pay rate of $20.00 to $23.00, and benefits include 401(k) savings and matching. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and events.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen or food service preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner.
• Prepare mise en place for hot and cold items according to recipes and daily prep lists.
• Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure produce and meats.
• Label, date, and store items using FIFO.
• Set up and stock workstations before service.
• Perform initial cooking steps like parboiling and reducing sauces.
• Monitor stock levels and report low items or waste.
• Participates as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery of product.
• Maintains sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
