Castaway in Burbank, CA is seeking a Prep Cook to join our culinary team. You will assist in preparing high-quality dishes, follow recipes, and maintain kitchen standards to ensure a smooth dining experience for guests.

You'll work closely with the culinary team in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for growth and development. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required; high school diploma or culinary training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, and prepare cooking elements during a shift.
• Store items in the refrigerator and prepare items ahead of time for quick access.
• May be responsible for preparing a certain portion of a dish.
• Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
• Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station; break down and clean station daily.
• Ensure proper rotation of all products to par; label and sign all products.
