Job summary

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group is seeking a Prep Cook to join our busy kitchen. You will follow the Daily Prep List for each shift, assist the chefs, and ensure accurate portioning and timely preparation of dishes.

We value teamwork, reliability, and a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays. This role involves standing for long periods and maintaining strict cleanliness and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and line cook experience.
• Have a positive energy, be ready to assist fellow staff and work as a team player.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees, and guests.
• A flexible schedule to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Constant standing/walking with occasional stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, or lifting.

Responsibilities

• Refer to Daily Prep List for each shift and complete opening and closing checklists and promptly report equipment, food quality problems, or product shortages to Chef.
• Prepares and portions a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven flat top range, refrigeration equipment, and adhere to all DHEC regulations for cleanliness and sanitation.
