Job summary

J. Alexander's Restaurant is seeking a Prep Cook to join its contemporary American kitchen and support high-standard scratch cooking in a fast-paced, open-kitchen setting.

You'll work with a professional team, follow recipes and sanitation protocols, and contribute to high-quality plate presentation while maintaining a clean workstation and flexible scheduling to meet restaurant needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age to operate kitchen equipment.
• Previous kitchen / culinary / chef experience is preferred, but not required.
• Experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, slicer, mixer, stoves, and ovens required.
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Our restaurants operate professional, fast-paced, scratch kitchens and require proper execution of recipes and standards.
• Open-kitchen layout with visibility from the dining room; maintain a clean and organized station.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure food presentation and quality.
• Assist with opening duties and closing cleaning duties; follow sanitation protocols.
