Job summary

Yay Lunch at Cardinal Gibbons is seeking a Prep Cook to keep the kitchen stocked and production moving. You will support the Lead Cook with mise en place, label and stage finished products, and help pack orders for delivery in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

You'll work 9am–3pm (30 hours/week) with a role that emphasizes accuracy, anticipation, and teamwork. Prior kitchen experience and a current food handler certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or food production environment.
• Strong attention to labeling, staging, and portioning accuracy.
• Reliable and self-directed; proactive in task completion.
• Team player who supports busy kitchen operations.
• Willing to drive for deliveries if required; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mise en place for Lead Cook and prep ingredients.
• Label items with name, date, quantity, and use-by date.
• Stage and track items by order and route; notify when complete.
• Pack and deliver orders; ensure correct quantities and temperatures.
• Clean as you go and assist with end-of-shift breakdown.
