Job summary

Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort in Pinecrest, CA seeks a Prep Cook for the Food & Beverage team. You will support kitchen staff with food prep, labeling, and maintaining a clean workstation to ensure smooth service.

Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager and supervisors, you will follow prep lists, handle inventory, and assist in dishes as needed. This role requires 18+ and ability to thrive in a busy resort setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Superior dexterity to operate cutting tools safely.
• Understanding industry-standard best cooking and preparation practices.
• Familiarity with safe and sanitary food handling and preparation.
• Certified in proper food handling; ServSafe Certification recommended.
• Good math skills with understanding of cooking measurements.
• Strong sense of smell and taste.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate and work as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without being overwhelmed by stress.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in an orderly fashion on prep lists from Manager/Supervisors.
• Prepare, stock and label ingredients in prep fridges and on the line.
• Prepare, stock and label ingredients for grab-n-go and other venues before operations.
• Understand daily prep needs and communicate clearly.
• Communicate and listen to operation needs during shift.
• Heat/warm prepared foods for hot service and keep up with needs.
• Adhere to nutrition and food safety regulations and standards.
• Track ingredient inventory and waste; assist in ordering resupply.
• Keep prep areas clean and sanitized and follow Food Safety standards.
• Be mindful of safety in kitchen and proper equipment usage.
• Assist in dishes, wash utensils, and take out trash as needed.
