Kahala Market by Foodland is seeking part-time prep cooks to join our culinary team on Oahu. The position requires high energy, creative cooking, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver quality meals to guests.

Candidates should have knife skills, knowledge of kitchen equipment, and the ability to follow recipes and procedures while maintaining a neat and professional appearance in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Pay: From $17.34-$21/hour depending on experience

Kahala Mkt. by Foodland is looking for Prep Cooks to join our culinary team. We are seeking high energy, creative culinary professionals who are passionate about food and delivering exceptional experiences to all guests.

Prep Cooks must have knowledge of cooking techniques & procedures, kitchen equipment, and kitchen operational systems. Prep Cooks must have the ability to work and communicate well with others, work both independently and in a team, follow directions, as well as maintain a positive attitude toward the work and company. Prep Cooks must also maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observe company dress code, and support the company culture, values, goals and mission. Our Cooks are essential to delivering safe, consistent, and high-quality food to our guests.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knife skills and basic cooking techniques required
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation methods, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and standardized procedures
• TB Clearance required (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements

Desired Work Experience

Previous culinary experience in a high-volume food establishment, restaurant, or prepared foods operation

Experience working as a Prep Cook or similar role

Familiarity with fast-paced kitchen environments and production cooking

Responsibilities & Abilities

Physical Requirements
