Job summary

Kahala Mkt. by Foodland on Oahu is seeking a prep cook to join a high-energy culinary team. You will handle prep work, follow recipes, and help maintain kitchen standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have kitchen experience, knife skills, and a positive attitude. On-island candidates only; relocation not provided. Medical/dental benefits and retirement options are offered with position consideration.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with high school education preferred or equivalent.
• Knife skills and basic cooking techniques required.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation methods, and safe handling practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and follow recipes/ procedures.
• TB clearance or ability to obtain prior to employment.

• Pay or shift range: $17.34 USD to $21 USD

Kahala Mkt. by Foodland is looking for Prep Cooks to join our culinary team. We are seeking high energy, creative culinary professionals who are passionate about food and delivering exceptional experiences to all guests.

Prep Cooks must have knowledge of cooking techniques & procedures, kitchen equipment, and kitchen operational systems. Prep Cooks must have the ability to work and communicate well with others, work both independently and in a team, follow directions, as well as maintain a positive attitude toward the work and company. Prep Cooks must also maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observe company dress code, and support the company culture, values, goals and mission. Our Cooks are essential to delivering safe, consistent, and high-quality food to our guests.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knife skills and basic cooking techniques required
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation methods, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and standardized procedures
• TB Clearance required (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements

Desired Work Experience

Previous culinary experience in a high-volume food establishment, restaurant, or prepared foods operation

Experience working as a Prep Cook or similar role

Familiarity with fast-paced kitchen environments and production cooking
