Job description

Under the direction of the Manager, Executive Chef, and/or Sous Chef, the Prep Cook performs semi-skilled food production for patients, staff, and visitors, including therapeutic diets. Responsibilities include:

1. Accurately preparing food items from standardized recipes based on production sheets and par levels.
2. Cleaning equipment and work areas following established procedures.
3. Operating food service equipment under supervision.
4. Issuing and inventorying food items.
5. Participating in inventory and cost control in the designated area.
6. Performing computer-related activities as required.
7. Attending scheduled meetings and training sessions.
8. Performing related activities as required.
9. Following the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital in job duties.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of food service experience in a hospital, commercial restaurant, or other food service operation.
• Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and handle chemicals safely.
