Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in food preparation for patients, staff, and visitors. The role involves following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and participating in inventory control. Ideal candidates will have food service experience and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction of the Manager, Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef, the Prep Cook performs semi-skilled production of all types of food forpatients, staff and visitor consumption, including therapeutic diets. Accurately prepares assigned food items from standardized recipes based onproduction sheets and par levels. Cleans equipment and area following established procedures. Operates food service equipment with supervision.Performs related activities as required. Attends scheduled meetings and training as assigned. Issues and inventories food items. Participates ininventory/cost control in designated area. Performs computer-related activities as required. Responsible for performing job duties in accordancewith mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions in English.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and ability to accurately follow instructions when using, disposing, and mixing chemicals.
