We are currently seeking a full-time Prep Cook to join our team at Best Impressions Caterers in Charlotte, NC. This role reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and/or Executive Chef.

The Prep Cook will be responsible for several key duties, including

washing, peeling, chopping, and preparing a variety of ingredients such as vegetables and meats for cooking.

Maintaining adequate stock of all necessary ingredients and supplies in the kitchen, along with keeping prep stations organized and assisting with inventory, are also important aspects of this position.

Adherence to food safety and sanitation standards is paramount, encompassing proper ingredient storage and consistent cleaning of prep areas.

The role also involves assisting with basic cooking tasks like grilling, sautéing, or steaming as directed by chefs or line cooks, and preparing sauces, dressings, and other condiments according to established recipes.

Collaboration within the kitchen team is essential to ensure timely and accurate ingredient preparation for service. Maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and all prep areas throughout each shift is also a critical responsibility.

While prior kitchen experience is welcomed, it is not a strict requirement. We are looking for individuals who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, possess strong attention to detail, and have a genuine interest in food. A foundational understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines is beneficial.

The physical demands of this role include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods. Successful candidates will also be able to follow instructions effectively and thrive in a team-oriented setting.

The work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, plus either Saturday or Sunday.
