Job summary

Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego, Oregon, is seeking a Prep Cook with passion and creativity to help prepare freshly made meals for residents and guests, under the guidance of the back-of-house leadership. You will work to keep menus standardized and consistently prepared each day.

This full-time role requires prior prep cook or dishwasher experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a prep cook and/or dishwasher in a quality food services operation is required.
• Previous experience using a commercial dish machine is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all menu items for residents and staff according to work production sheets.
• Follow prep lists, cut, measure, portion, and maintain an orderly workstation.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment, sweep, mop and garbage.
• Receive food deliveries and assist in preparing food for other shifts.
• Relate positively to staff, residents and families, and work as a team with other employees at all levels.

Mary's Woods is looking for a Prep Cook with professional experience, passion and creativity. As a Prep Cook, you will be essential in contributing toward preparing freshly made meals for our residents and guests at Mary's Woods. You will be working with the heart of the back of house leadership while maintaining menus that are standardized and prepared consistently each day.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture.We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.

Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful:

• Responsible for the preparation of all food items on the menu for residents and personnel according to the work production sheets
• Responsible for following prep lists, cutting, measuring, portioning, maintaining an orderly work station
• Responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment, sweeping and occasionally moping and garbage
• May be required to receive food deliveries and cooperate in the preparation of food for other work shifts
• Able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents andfamilies, and to work as a team with other employees at all levels

Education and Experience Required:

• Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a prep cook and/or dishwasher in a quality food services operation is required
• Previous experience using a commercial dish machine is required

Schedule Available:

• Friday - Tuesday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.

This is a full-time position that will include working weekends and holidays.The starting wagedependson experience, certification and education.
