Job summary

Mary's Woods in Lake Oswego, Oregon is seeking a Prep Cook to assist in preparing meals for residents and guests, maintaining standardized menus, and supporting back-of-house leadership with daily operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and prior prep cook or dishwasher experience, plus experience using a commercial dish machine. Schedule is Friday through Tuesday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all menu items for residents and staff according to production sheets.
• Follow prep lists, cut, measure, portion and maintain a clean work station.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation of equipment and sweeping/mopping as needed.
• Assist with receiving food deliveries and support other shifts in food prep.
• Collaborate with staff at all levels to provide positive experiences for residents and families.

Mary's Woods is looking for a Prep Cook with professional experience, passion and creativity. As a Prep Cook, you will be essential in contributing toward preparing freshly made meals for our residents and guests at Mary's Woods. You will be working with the heart of the back of house leadership while maintaining menus that are standardized and prepared consistently each day.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful:

• Responsible for the preparation of all food items on the menu for residents and personnel according to the work production sheets
• Responsible for following prep lists, cutting, measuring, portioning, maintaining an orderly work station
• Responsible for the proper cleaning and sanitation of equipment, sweeping and occasionally moping and garbage
• May be required to receive food deliveries and cooperate in the preparation of food for other work shifts
• Able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents andfamilies, and to work as a team with other employees at all levels

Education and Experience Required:

• Education and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a prep cook and/or dishwasher in a quality food services operation is required
• Previous experience using a commercial dish machine is required
