Job summary

Grubbs Family of Dealerships is seeking a skilled Preowned Automotive Technician to inspect, recondition, and service our used vehicle inventory. You will ensure every vehicle meets safety and quality standards before hitting the line.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical issues across multiple makes, complete required safety inspections, and maintain a clean, efficient work area in a busy, family-owned shop.

Qualifications

• Automotive repair experience across multiple brands preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• ASE certifications a plus.
• Own a basic set of tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, honest used-vehicle inspections and complete reconditioning to front-line-ready standard.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues accurately across multiple makes and models.
• Complete safety inspections and any certification (CPO) requirements to the letter.
• Document all needed and completed repairs clearly and communicate condition to management.
• Work efficiently to keep reconditioning timelines tight so vehicles hit the line fast.
• Flag safety concerns and quality issues — never pass a vehicle that isn’t right.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and properly care for shop equipment.
