Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• PALS required when pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and values of SCA Health during perioperative care.
• Assess preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret monitors and manage patient safety during anesthesia.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Prepare for and manage recovery from anesthesia across modalities.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Diligently document nursing care and hand off communication.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
