Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Staff Nurse for Preop/PACU in Omaha, NE. This full-time night shift position provides preoperative preparation, post-anesthesia recovery, and holding/recovery care for a diverse surgical patient population.

You will work with surgeons, anesthesia, and multiple specialties to coordinate safe, high-quality patient care while keeping skills sharp in a fast-paced environment. BLS, state license, and department-specific certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PALS, ACLS, TNCC or ATCN certifications per department requirements.
• Nebraska RN license or current compact state license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative preparation, post-anesthesia recovery, and holding/recovery care.
• Monitor patients and administer IV antibiotics and fluids; manage insulin infusions and vital signs as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multiple specialties to coordinate care.
• Deliver nursing care for designated patient groups across long-term, emergent, or procedural settings.
