Job summary

The Surgery Center at St. Andrews, part of HCA Healthcare, invites an experienced perioperative nurse to join as an RN PreOp PACU Nurse PRN in our Venice, FL ambulatory surgery center.

You will plan, perform and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care, coordinating with surgeons and staff to ensure safe discharge and high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure
• Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon
• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

ACLS within 30 days

PALS if required
