Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a Preop/PACU RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in the perioperative setting. Responsibilities include assessment, preparation, monitoring, documentation and patient education across pre- and post-operative phases.

The role requires a nursing degree, an active RN license, CPR (ACLS per policy), and at least three years of perioperative experience, with strong teamwork and adherence to ASC regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing program.
• Three years clinical experience in the peri-operative setting.
• Working knowledge of sterile technique and anesthetized patients.
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ambulatory surgery centers.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
• Holds current RN license.
• Current CPR certification (ACLS per center policy).
• Critical Care, ER, or recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative assessments and obtain consent as applicable.
• Prepare patients: review history, vital signs, IV start, meds, monitors.
• Verify essential equipment is functioning daily.
• Assess and monitor patients before, during and after care.
• Identify patient and procedure and communicate to the team.
• Transport and position patients safely.
• Document care records accurately following policies.
• Maintain safety and a clean center environment.
• Provide discharge instructions to patient/family.
• Delegate tasks to qualified staff as appropriate.
• Participate in QAPI and Safety Program.
