Job summary

AMSURG is seeking a Registered Nurse to perform pre-op duties and provide high-quality patient care before endoscopy procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy). The role includes preparing patients, verifying consent, administering pre-medication, IV placement, and monitoring vitals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• MD State RN licensure required.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.
• Experience in ambulatory surgery center preferred.
• Proficient with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Pre-op duties: prepare patient physically and mentally, obtain history, verify consent, administer pre-medication, perform point-of-care testing.
• Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety during recovery from anesthesia.
• Maintain pre-op/admitting area cleanliness and inventory.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to prepare pre-procedure area and ensure continuity of care.
• Transports patients as needed and follows discharge instructions.
