Pendry in Newport Beach is seeking a Sommelier to lead wine service across outlets, lounges, and banquets. You will mentor bartenders and servers, guide guests through curated wine experiences, and educate staff on regions, varietals, and food pairings.

This role emphasizes training in wine service standards, cellar management, and collaboration with restaurant management to optimize beverage costs and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• One year minimum of experience in food and beverage operations.
• Certificate of completion from the Guild of Sommeliers is a plus.
• Luxury hotel experience is a plus.
• Prior Micros or other systems experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist in administering the sale of beverages in outlet, lounge, and banquet functions, mentoring bartenders and servers.
• Guide guests through the wine list with detailed descriptions and recommendations.
• Engage guests in wine discussions and share stories about featured wines.
• Educate associates about wine regions, varietals, flavors, and pairings.
• Conduct associate training on wine service standards and decanting/pouring/presentation.
