Position Summary

The Premium Services & Catering Manager provides support and assistance with catering activities and assists concession managers in the profitable management of concessions operations. The Catering Manager will independently initiate and authorize employment actions such as hiring, termination, suspension, discipline, promotion, and transfer. The manager will actively manage employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant, and cooperative work environment.

This role offers an annual salary of $55,000-$60,000.

About the Venue

Santander Arena, located in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, is a versatile venue serving as the home arena for the Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers. The arena hosts a variety of live events including concerts, Disney on Ice, and other family-friendly events attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall effective management of catering and concessions operations.
• Ensure compliance with all alcohol service policies.
• Monitor alcohol service throughout events to ensure 100% compliance.
• Report any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately.
• Provide ongoing direction, supervision, and mentoring to hourly event staff.
• Monitor product quality and guest service levels.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical problems with POS systems, both hardware and software.
• Assist in vault opening, closing, and balancing as necessary.
• Generate event employee schedules and verify employee time.
• Assist in training, developing, mentoring, and supervising hourly employees; document performance and attendance issues per company policy.
• Manage catered events from setup to teardown, including communication with staff, culinary team, and guests.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (A.A.) or higher in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field.
• Three to five years’ experience in concessions management, food & beverage management, or related roles.
• Degree may be substituted with four or more years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and timekeeping systems.
• Excellent communication skills to foster a positive work environment.
• Ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
