Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking a Premium Concessions Bartender for The PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, CT. This part-time role pays an hourly rate of $16.94 and is tip eligible.

You will serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, work in a fast-paced setting, and support guest satisfaction during events. Responsibilities include following bar pre-shift notes, upselling, handling cash, verifying IDs, and maintaining a clean workstation.

Qualifications

• Six months or more experience bartending.
• Accurate cash handling skills are required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.
• Bartending school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
• Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check guest IDs to verify the minimum age for alcohol purchase.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Respond to customer requests or concerns.
• De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and involve management/security if needed.
• Contact a manager if unable to resolve issues.
• Request additional product or restock as required.
• Balance bank/cash drawer counts.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and keep bar equipment clean.
• Other duties such as setup/breakdown of bar equipment and organizing the cooler.
