Job summary

UHA in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Premium Collections Specialist to manage overdue accounts and drive timely premium recovery. This role coordinates collection activities, handles inquiries, and provides professional service to internal and external customers. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of billing and customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving percentages, ratios, and account balances.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to billing, collections, and reporting systems.
• Ability to use ten-key by touch.

Responsibilities

• Monitor delinquent group and individual accounts in accordance with established collection policies and timelines.
• Generate and review delinquency, aging, and collection reports to support follow-up activities.
• Prepare and track collection communications, including letters, emails, and customer outreach.
• Document customer responses, payment arrangements, and account resolution activities accurately.
• Collaborate with Billing, Enrollment, and other internal departments to resolve account issues.
• Respond to billing and collection inquiries from internal and external customers professionally and timely.
• Maintain accurate records to support reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Provide backup support for billing and collections functions as needed.
