Job summary

Hotel Nikko San Francisco is seeking a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classic cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. You will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages and food, and upsell items.

You will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of beverage lists, assisting with inventory, and ensuring service standards while working in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year bartending experience.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• All candidates fluent in verbal and written English.
• Excellent knowledge of beverage products.
• Previous point of sale system experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and promote house drinks using up-selling to maximize revenues.
• Prepare beverages per recipes, maintain pouring standards, and coordinate food service as needed.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and stop service when required, reporting incidents.
• Offer professional, friendly, engaging service and knowledge of the menu.
• Maintain knowledge of beverage lists, garnishes, and preparation methods, and assist with inventory.
• Set up bar with liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes and supplies; perform pre/post-shift side-work.
• Follow outlet policies, safety and sanitation policies, and be a team player.
