Job summary

Hotel Nikko San Francisco is seeking a professional, high-energy bartender to serve classic cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. You will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages and food.

You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. We offer a full-time hourly role with a comprehensive benefits package including zero-deductible

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of bartending experience.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Excellent knowledge of beverage products.
• Previous POS system experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, promote house drinks and use up-selling to maximize revenues.
• Prepare beverages to recipes, coordinate food service with restaurant for bar guests.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and notify management of incidents.
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Assist guests regarding all beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way.
• Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions.
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
• Assist with beverage inventory when needed.
• Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
• Perform pre- and post-shift side-work and requisition supplies.
