Job Summary

The Pre‑Construction Manager is responsible for running major projects and developing new business opportunities with existing and new clients. The role requires managing project details, pricing, contract finances, and client relationships, while representing the company in project meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain thorough project details list describing the project “trail.”
  • Plan and organize projects as the “Pursuit Leader.”
  • Understand company philosophy, systems, objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Supervise preparation of pricing quotations for presentation to the prime customer.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company interests while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
  • Accept that duties are not exhaustive and may change with business unit requirements.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, design consultants.
  • Understanding of various design project concepts: design‑build, design‑assist, IPD, Lean, LEED.
  • Self‑starter with ability to make independent decisions affecting profitability.
  • Knowledge of Northwest and Portland Metro area construction markets is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Oracle preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, change priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry; electrical contractor experience preferred.
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience accepted.
Travel & Working Environment

Remote position with up to 50% travel to jobsites.

  • General work environment involves sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending; primarily indoors with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
  • Noise level low to medium, can be loud on the jobsite.
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Compliant with ADA and applicable state law; reasonable accommodation available.
