Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is an entry‑level project management position responsible for providing administrative and construction support to the Project Management team and learning core tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
- Oversee project activities assigned by the Project Manager, including planning, coordination, problem resolution, and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain change orders, submittals, and document (drawing) control logs; prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
- Create and issue subcontractor contracts; compile and deliver Owner and Maintenance Manuals.
- Ensure the project quality control plan is followed; maintain warranty log.
- Attend company/project meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc., providing project‑management support.
- Assist field personnel assigned to the area of responsibility; monitor other contractors’ activities and progress.
- Create Job Information Sheets and establish Job Files.
- Prepare price change orders, project reports and documentation; coordinate with payroll for accurate payroll information.
- Other related responsibilities as assigned.

- Strong organizational, record‑keeping, and follow‑up skills; attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
- Ability to identify and meet customers' expectations and requirements.
- Proficiency in computer use, Microsoft Office, and preferred Oracle.
- Prioritization and management of multiple tasks, with changing priorities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, and effective team player.
- Professional communication with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
What You Bring to Us
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a construction‑related role.
- Combination of training, education, and relevant experience that is equivalent.
Travel
Up to 25%
Working Conditions
- Work performed primarily on active construction sites; activities include sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
- Indoor work with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning; noise level low to medium.
- Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
