Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager II in Austin, TX, to lead quantity take-offs, bid pricing, and subcontractor selection. You will guide preconstruction efforts, contribute to design-cost decisions, and support the project team with budgets and schedules.

You will train engineers and PM staff, manage cost history, and collaborate with clients to refine conceptual budgets. This role focuses on value engineering and resource planning for complex commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architectural or Management degree.
• 5–10 years of proven experience in the commercial construction industry.
• Understand construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.
• Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
• Strong Excel, cost modeling, and data summarization capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs of all construction systems.
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals.
• Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.
• Record final estimates and maintain cost history.
• Support preconstruction by design costs, schedules, procurement, and pursuits.
• Train Precon Engineers and Project Management staff.
• Provide direction for project scope, market pricing, and resources.
• Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets and cost modeling.
