Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting, estimating, scheduling, value analysis, and design management.
• Provide Value Engineering options as necessary.
• Coordinate pricing with construction services teams and safety leadership.
• Develop phasing and sequencing plans in consultation with Operations.
• Build strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Description of Position

The Preconstruction Manager will simultaneously lead activities associated with multiple prospective projects during the preconstruction phase of primarily negotiated multifamily construction projects.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure enforcement/ compliance of CF Evans Construction’s corporate safety, quality, and schedule / production management programs, as well as lead and direct project planning and customer service programs for projects. Foster and ensure cooperative and collaborative internal and external partner relationships.
• Lead and/or perform portions of estimates for projects, including understanding scope and performing accurate quantity surveys.
• Ensure proper management of the client’s expectations established for preconstruction efforts; Ability to build relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
• Demonstrate support of project teams throughout the preconstruction process including budgeting, estimating, scheduling, value analysis, and design management; Provide Value Engineering options as necessary.
• Coordinate pricing efforts with the construction services teams and Director of Safety for construction assemblies and logistics.
• Develop or further enhance phasing and sequencing plans, in consultation with Operations.

QualificationsRequirements of the Position

• Education & Certification – 4-year engineering or construction management degree preferred; OSHA 30 completion card preferred.
• Recommended Work Experience – 7-10 years of relevant construction estimating experience; Multifamily construction industry experience a plus; Experience in Timberline Estimating, SmartBid, PlanSwift, Procore, Bluebeam, and Excel preferred.
• Physical Demands – Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching (with arms and hands), handling, talking, hearing, depth perception, lifting, vision (close, peripheral, depth, ability to adjust focus), and lifting/moving up to 35+ pounds
• Working Conditions – Work from corporate office location(s) typical; Regular, local, and regional travel to active project sites, clients, and meetings required; Project site conditions vary and are affected by local weather; Must be able to safely navigate project locations during various stages of construction; Often work with teams in temporary offices, under stressful conditions, and outside normal business hours.
