Job summary

Insight Global's construction client is seeking a Preconstruction Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical Construction team in Stony Point, NC. This role supports the Estimator on new project bids, primarily examining construction drawings and specifications throughout the bidding process.

You will review drawings and bid documents, coordinate RFIs and submittals, and help manage procurement and budgeting tasks to ensure accurate estimates and timely proposals.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope, perform takeoffs, develop cost estimates, and assist with proposals and budgeting.
• Support project execution by coordinating RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, procurement activities, and communication with owners, contractors, engineers, vendors, and field teams.
• Develop material and equipment requirements, solicit vendor quotations, and evaluate proposals for compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate submittals, purchasing, delivery schedules, and long-lead items while maintaining accurate procurement records and identifying alternative solutions when needed.
• Conduct jobsite visits to verify electrical installations comply with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Document and communicate workmanship, coordination, or code-related issues while assisting with inspections, commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover.
