Job summary

BE&K Building Group in Raleigh, NC seeks an Electrical Estimator to join our construction team. You will analyze blueprints, estimate material, labor, and equipment costs, and prepare competitive bids for commercial projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and suppliers, maintain cost databases, and monitor cost performance while ensuring compliance with electrical codes. A strong estimating background and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
• ASPE or AACE certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine electrical requirements and scope.
• Estimate cost of materials, labor, and equipment for electrical installations.
• Prepare and submit detailed and accurate project bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope.
• Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market prices.
• Evaluate profitability and provide recommendations to management.
• Identify cost-saving measures to increase project profitability.
• Ensure estimates comply with electrical codes and standards.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing information.
• Monitor and report on project progress and cost performance.
