Job summary

Insight Global's construction client seeks a Preconstruction Electrical Engineer to bolster the Electrical Construction team in Stony Point, NC. The role supports the Estimator on bids by reviewing drawings and specs throughout the bidding process.

Responsibilities include defining project scope, performing takeoffs, developing cost estimates, coordinating RFIs, submittals, and schedules, and ensuring procurement aligns with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of professional experience in a related industry.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of VFDs, also experience with low, medium, and high voltage electrical.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Proficiency with the full Microsoft Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope, perform takeoffs, develop cost estimates, and assist with proposals and budgeting.
• Support project execution by coordinating RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, procurement activities, and communication with owners, contractors, engineers, vendors, and field teams.
• Develop material and equipment requirements, solicit vendor quotations, and evaluate proposals for compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate submittals, purchasing, delivery schedules, and long-lead items while maintaining accurate procurement records and identifying alternative solutions when needed.
• Conduct jobsite visits to verify electrical installations comply with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Document and communicate workmanship, coordination, or code-related issues while assisting with inspections, commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover.

Field Quality Observations

• Conduct jobsite visits to verify electrical installations comply with project drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

MUST HAVES:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

PLUSSES:
