Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC seeks a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for precision components. You will develop repeatable joining methods, resolve production challenges, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and productivity.

You will document procedures, support qualifications, investigate defects, and train production staff while evaluating equipment and implementing process improvements for safer, more efficient manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, welding symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate clear corrective actions.
• Experience with precision assemblies, stainless steels or nickel alloys, automated welding, and related welding qualifications or certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, parameters, joint prep, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain records against customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.
