Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop, optimize, and support welding processes in a vehicle manufacturing environment. You will partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure weld quality, drive continuous improvement, and support new product launches.

Responsibilities include developing MIG/TIG/resistance welding processes, defining procedures, investigating defects with root-cause analysis, and ensuring AWS/ISO/IATF compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in welding engineering or weld process development in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with GD&T, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office; strong weld procedure development and defect analysis.
• AWS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize MIG, TIG, and resistance welding processes.
• Define and maintain welding parameters, procedures, and standards.
• Investigate welding defects, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AWS, ISO, and IATF 16949 industry standards.
• Conduct weld audits, support PPAP submissions, and develop PFMEAs and control plans.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste, cycle time, and consumable costs.
