Job summary

Amentum is seeking a precision welder to support small and prototype fabrication efforts. The role involves expert metal welding, positional assembly, and repairing components using brazing and various arc/gas welding processes to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities include inspecting components, operating CNC and machine shop equipment, and maintaining required certifications. Candidates must meet security/medical requirements and may travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
• English speaking, reading and writing required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and vocational/technical training.
• Minimum seven years direct welding experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of precision welding processes and CNC equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate government vehicle.
• Ability to pass medical and security requirements and travel if needed.

Responsibilities

• Weld various metals within tolerances around 0.005 inches.
• Fabricate/repair parts following layouts, blueprints or work orders.
• Operate gas/arc welding, brazing, thermal cutting, and grinding.
• Inspect for cracks, repair components, and prepare parts for welding.
• Operate machine shop equipment and CNC devices efficiently.
• Read Technical Manuals and Army/Navy/Industrial standards.
• Maintain certifications and participate in safety programs.
