Job summary

Amentum in the United States seeks a Precision Welder to support small prototype fabrication. You will perform expert metal welding and cutting within exact tolerances, fabricate or repair machine parts, plant equipment, and other components according to blueprints and work orders.

The role requires seven years of direct welding experience, proficiency with TIG/MIG welding and brazing, work with CNC equipment, and the ability to obtain necessary credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have seven (7) years of direct job-experience or an equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and hands-on experience.
• Must be able to obtain licenses/certifications as needed to perform duties.
• Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
• Must be able to read/understand Technical Manuals and Army Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Weld various types of metals within tolerances (0.005 inches).
• Fabricate/repair components per layouts, blueprints or work orders using welding and brazing.
• Operate machine shop equipment with efficient use of raw materials.
• Analyze engineering designs to address metal structural issues.
• Hold or obtain appropriate industry certifications.
• May be required to pass performance tests and travel.
