Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate, or general education degree and two years of experience with GTAW and GMAW processes.
• Three years minimum industry experience in manufacturing or transportation and/or training.
• Possess basic math skills, and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Welder must be able to pass two welder qualification tests per AWS D1.1: Bevel V-Groove in the Horizontal Position using GMAW process and Fillet T-Joint in the Flat position using GTAW Process.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings using GD&T and take or red measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on drawing or material requirements.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare and finish dress parts that must be welded.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications with proper fit-up.
• Align components using calipers, rulers, clamps, fixtures.
• Must be able to perform final inspection of welds using proper weld gauges.
• Repair fixtures, components or equipment by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a condition that assures safety by using 5S principles.
