Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Fort Worth, TX seeks an experienced Welder to support locomotive/mining component fabrication. You will weld using FCAW, SMAW and GMAW across all positions, assemble parts, and help improve manufacturing processes.

The role requires careful attention to blueprint reading, PPE compliance, and the ability to pass drug/background checks. Shift hours and overtime may apply; join a team dedicated to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited welding program OR have one year of hands-on welding experience.
• Ability to weld to AWS D1.1 Class 1 standards.
• Must be 18+ years old with HS diploma or GED.
• Willing to wear PPE and work in a tobacco-free environment.
• Must pass drug screen and background check; random drug tests.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Proficient in FCAW, SMAW and GMAW welding.
• Experience with .035 to 3/32” wire; all positions.
• Able to work at heights up to 20 ft and on ladders.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks to support fabrication of locomotive/mining components.
• Weld as part of a team to improve manufacturing processes.
• Assemble components and perform related duties as assigned.
• Test fabrications and welds for leaks and pressure; repair if needed.
• Operate plasma cutting and air arc cutting tools.
• Set up and run simple welding operations.
• Pry and position heavy equipment; assist with fixtures.
