Job summary

Mohawk Lifts is seeking a Welder for full-time work at our Amsterdam, NY facility. You will perform welding on various components using fixtures, adhere to safety rules, and support lean manufacturing initiatives while contributing to product development.

You will set jigs, read tape measures, and apply GMAW and FCAW welding processes. The role requires the ability to pass a welder qualification test (AWSD 1.1) and to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Welding vocational training or 1 year in a welding role in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in welding steel.
• Knowledge of GMAW and FCAW processes.
• Experience with pre-heat, weld fit up, weld inspection and weld finishing.
• Experience with overhead cranes and lifting methods.

Responsibilities

• Utilize welding processes to weld current and evolving fabricated products.
• Lift and carry work pieces manually or with hoist.
• Load parts into jigs and weld per work instructions.
• Collaborate with Welding Supervisor to develop processes and improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of welding processes including GMAW and FCAW.
• Read tape measure and use basic shop math.
• Perform pre-heat, weld fit up, weld preparation, inspection, and finishing.
