WorkWave Staff is seeking a skilled TIG Welder for 1st and 2nd shifts to join our manufacturing team in Jamestown, NY. You will perform TIG welding on various metal components, reading complex drawings, and ensuring high-quality, dimensionally accurate welds.

The role emphasizes safety, precise workmanship, and collaboration with engineering and production to optimize processes in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in metal manufacturing, with TIG welding techniques.
• Understanding of welding metallurgy, joint designs, and filler metal selection.
• Ability to read detailed schematics and engineering drawings.
• Commitment to workplace safety and OSHA regulations.
• Valid TIG welding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG welding operations on metal components to ensure dimensional precision and structural integrity.
• Interpret and adhere to complex technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications to execute detailed welding tasks accurately.
• Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, grinding, and edge preparation prior to welding.
• Inspect finished welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion, and perform repairs.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following safety protocols and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering and production staff to optimize fabrication processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Monitor welding equipment condition and inventory of consumables, reporting malfunctions or shortages.
