Moog Inc. is seeking a Welder IV for the 2nd shift onsite in Buffalo, NY. The role involves EB welding, orbital TIG tube welding in a clean room, and both manual and semi-automatic TIG processes.

You will interpret welding schedules, set voltages, calibrate equipment, and perform part inspection with microscope verification. Responsibilities include leading a work cell, training technicians, and coordinating with engineering for modifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• At least 5 years of relevant welding experience in production or prototype environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate electron beam (EB) welding and arc welding equipment.
• Perform orbital welding (semi-automatic TIG tube welding) in a clean room; set up and prep.
• Operate TIG welding equipment (manual and semi-automatic).
• Set up, adjust, inspect, and maintain welds; perform preventative maintenance on welders and vacuum equipment.
• Work from welding schedules and worksheets; determine voltage, amperage, and travel distance.
• Assemble weld process hardware and fixtures; inspect samples under microscope for weld quality.
• Perform CNC-related or measurement tasks as needed; interpret drawings and tolerances.
• Lead a work cell; train technicians and coordinate with support functions.
