Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation in Cedar Grove, NJ, is seeking a Machine Operator I to perform essential manufacturing steps of part trimming and drilling, meeting daily production needs in our machine shop.

You will trim plated parts to print specs using manual and programmed Lathes, and core drill parts with HAAS machines. The role emphasizes safety, precision, and quality with opportunities for cross-training on neighboring cells.

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints, spec sheets or drawings and perform precision measurement.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and follow written/verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
• Trim plated parts to print specifications using manual and programmed lathes.
• Core drill parts with manual drill presses, lathes and HAAS drilling machines.
• Program HAAS machines for drilling operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance including fluid changes, lubrication and cleaning per lead/supervisor.
• Record production information on travellers and in the ERP system.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Make minor repairs and notify maintenance when needed.
• Count, clean, and transfer of parts; return gauges and fixtures.
• Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances.
• Follow schedules and procedures; adapt to cell and team concepts.
• Ensure safety guards are in place and functional.
• Assist other operators as needed.
• Inspect work in progress and ensure quality; notify if unclear.
