Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Toolmaker I in New Hampshire to setup and operate a variety of machine tools and provide support to senior toolmakers within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

This position requires 3–5 years of machining experience, knowledge of geometry and trigonometry, reading blueprints, and GD&T; responsibilities include working to tight tolerances in a 2D environment and coordinating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or an Associate’s degree in Applied Science or Machine Tool.
• 3-5 years machining experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply GD&T principles.
• Experience with milling, turning, grinding, fixture design and metrology.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, indicators).

Responsibilities

• Provide support to tool room and prototype teams.
• Fabricate simple jigs and fixtures with supervision.
• Determine fabrication process and sequence with minimal assistance.
• Work to tolerances of +/- .001 in a 2D environment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Follow Safety and ISO procedures and communicate issues to supervision.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality; may work overtime as needed.
