Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking a Toolmaker I to set up and operate a variety of machine tools, producing precision parts and supporting senior toolmakers. The role requires 3–5 years machining experience, strong math and GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work with blueprints in a team environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; AS or Machine Tool program; 3–5 years of experience.
• Ability to apply geometry and trigonometry.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with milling, turning, grinding, CAD/CAM, metrology, fixture design, EDM, heat treatment, OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to tool room team members.
• Fabricate simple jigs and fixtures with supervision.
• Determine fabrication process and sequence with minimal assistance.
• Work in a 2D environment to tolerances of +/- .001.
• Keep a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Communicate issues and corrective actions to supervision.
• Participate in 5S workplace organization and sustainment.
• Follow Safety and ISO procedures.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
• May work in other areas or facilities as needed.
• May work overtime or alternate shifts.
