Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Tool Room Machinist to interpret blueprints and operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts. You will set up, test, and maintain equipment, ensuring safe operation and adherence to quality standards on the 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:30pm–11:00pm) in Savanna, IL.

Applicants should have 1+ years machining and blueprint reading experience and a strong attendance record.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of machining and blueprint reading experience.
• Knowledge of what “making chips” means.
• Steady work history with minimal employment gaps.
• History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up, maintain, and service equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution.
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
• Help train less experienced team members.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
