Job summary

MacLean-Fogg Company in Savanna, IL is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment to fabricate precision parts.

You will read blueprints and specs to ensure tight tolerances, perform adjustments via PLC screens, and support safe, efficient production. First shift training available for up to 6 months; on-site with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Typically 3 years of machining and blueprint-reading experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, torque specifications, and engineering requirements to maintain accurate dimensions and tolerances.
• Test and adjust machines, including making equipment adjustments using PLC screens, to support safe, efficient operation and product quality.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and service equipment to help ensure reliable production performance.
• Use pick lists and bills of materials to accurately complete machine setups.
• Identify and report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution.
• Follow applicable Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
• Help train less experienced team members on applicable work processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, torque specifications, and engineering requirements to maintain tolerances.
• Test and adjust machines, including PLC screen-based adjustments, for safe operation and quality.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and service equipment to ensure reliable production performance.
• Complete machine setups using pick lists and BOMs.

• Follow Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
• Help train less experienced team members on applicable work processes and equipment.
