Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tool Maker for our Farmington Hills, Michigan manufacturing facility. You will build, repair, inspect, and maintain cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, and related components while operating tool room equipment.

This on-site role offers 2nd or 3rd shift with pay at $25/hour plus shift premiums. Requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of related experience, plus the ability to read blueprints and follow instructions with strong manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with related experience.
• Two or more years of related experience or technical training.
• Ability to interpret work instructions and follow directions.
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, assemble, repair, and rework cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, and related components.
• Set up and operate tool room equipment to produce new tools and parts.
• Read blueprints and work instructions to plan tooling layout and assembly.
• Inspect parts and tools and perform bench work as required.
• Assist with maintenance or machine repair and replacement of parts.
• Lubricate and care for tool room equipment and keep work areas clean.
• Report issues and complete daily job records.
• Assist training of new hires and provide hand tools as needed.
