MacLean-Fogg Company in Savanna, IL is seeking a Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment to fabricate precision parts.

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Machinist - 2nd Shift at our Savanna, IL manufacturing facility. In this hands-on role, you will set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot machining equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts to specified dimensions and quality standards. You will work with lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related equipment to support safe, efficient production.

Work Arrangement: On-site
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-11:30 PM; training on 1st Shift for up to 6 months, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM
Pay: $16.00-$19.00/hour, depending on experience
Other Compensation: $2.00/hour shift premium for 2nd Shift

Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other mechanical equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts, including changing sensors.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, torque specifications, and engineering requirements to maintain accurate dimensions and tolerances.
Test and adjust machines, including making equipment adjustments using PLC screens, to support safe, efficient operation and product quality.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and service equipment to help ensure reliable production performance.
Use pick lists and bills of materials to accurately complete machine setups.
Identify and report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution.
Follow applicable Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
Help train less experienced team members on applicable work processes and equipment.
Typically 3 years of machining and blueprint-reading experience in a metal manufacturing environment.
Machine operation and precision measurement skills.
Ability to interpret and apply detailed work instructions, technical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
Basic mathematical skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and technical applications used to support machine operation.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive assigned tasks to completion.
Ability to communicate effectively and build productive working relationships with team members and internal customers.
Reliable attendance and punctuality to support production timelines and team operations.
This is an on-site, hands-on manufacturing position involving work with lathes, milling machines, grinders, precision parts, and related production equipment. The role requires safely setting up, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing machinery while following applicable Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures.
