Tool Makers fabricate, repair, and modify tooling and gauges, read blueprints, and set up lathes, mills, grinders and EDMs to meet exact specifications. This role emphasizes quality and career growth within a manufacturing-focused network.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training.
5+ years of experience in tool and die making.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and measurement techniques.
Ability to operate a wide range of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, repair, and modify tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges.
Set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines.
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Perform precision measurements using a variety of inspection tools to ensure quality and accuracy.
Troubleshoot and diagnose tooling issues, implementing effective solutions.
Select appropriate materials and heat treatment processes for tool manufacturing.
Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
