Job summary

Velo3D in Fremont, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to work with process and manufacturing engineers on building and testing unique system components for R&D and production teams.

The role requires on-site work in Fremont for 6–8 months, then Livermore, CA, with travel 10–15% to support installations across the U.S. Typical shift is 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Mechanical aptitude and at least three years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Preference for experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.
• Excellent work ethic.
• Uncompromising drive for excellence.
• Good organizational skills and ability to keep detailed records.
• Motivation to identify problem areas and implement new quality-improvement techniques.
• Honesty and responsibility for mistakes and remediation.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble critical system components and maintain precision.
• Test system components for performance using metrology equipment.
• Monitor materials and parts for defects and non-conformance.
• Maintain organized and detailed testing records.
• Ensure adequate quantities of subcomponents and materials in inventory.
• Escalate problems and propose improvements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and shipping to dispatch components.
• Develop skills with the print shop to operate systems.
• Collaborate with engineering for system bring-up.
